At 10:19 am this morning, My mother called and asked if I was going to church this morning. With no hesitation, I quickly said, no, not today, and back to sleepy I went. 20 minutes later, I jumped up and said, oooh, I am going to wear MY Birthday Dress. Boy, does this dress have a story.
Meet my Black and Cream ColorBlock Gem.
I planned my 35th Birthday Dinner Takeover at the Cazbah in Downtown Greenville, SC. The attire was WHITE. I had the perfect dress in mind, but I could not find it anywhere. I searched high and low price points in several stores and many racks with no luck. I began my search online, and this was tiresome, and then I found it. THE dress. I found the exact dress that I pictured in my mind at a UK based fashion site, Very.com. I was hesitant, so I settled and bought a cute yellow "tulip" dress from Ashley Stewart. A week passed and I kept thinking about THE dress online, and I did it. I took the plunge and bought it. The scheduled delivery date was Wednesday and the dinner was Friday. RISKY, I know, but I did it anyway...worst case, I would wear the "tulip". I tracked, and tracked THE dress continuously......aaaand oh nooooh, the package was sorted at the wrong facility in Germany and the package was being rerouted. Germany, Really? Let's just say I know a lil something about shipping and logistics. Its a trip being the one that might not receive their shipment on time. How ironic....anyway, I still had hope.
All hope for THE Birthday Dress is gone. The mailman attempted to deliver the package on the day of the dinner, but no one was at home. Very.com required, and some other international shippers, require signature confirmation, so it was returned to the post office for pick up on Monday. MONDAY?!? I need it now! There were so many emotions running through me, I was excited, frustrated, and "too threw" that I had to wear the "tulip" instead. Although "tulip" was not my favorite, it was a hit. You gotta have fun, cuz its ur birthday. THE dress missed my birthday, but it was blessed at church today. It B's like that:)
