Smumidity

We need to embrace the frizz and the humidity.  This week with the rain, I am glad I have my blowout. The mist has only softened it, and although I have ran from the rain today, my biggest fear was getting my little cheap Target flats wet. I remember Target used to sell Leather shoes for the same price   I had to turn on the heat in my car to warm up the toes.

Back to hair, it brings me to my conversation today with Judy and her being unhappy with frizz. After straightening and coloring, even the curliest of divas can lose that natural curl.  So for my Caucasian, Latin American, African American Curl friends, and All with curls and waves lets try laying down the irons and straighteners and embrace your curls. Lets try more natural colorants like a Rinse or Semi-Permanent Color so even on the rainiest of days Frizz can be your friend!

Hair Typing is helpful, but not always exact- Read More ...Here are some different style options and steps.  Contact me for clarification.

Wash your hair at night with Volumizing shampoo for fine, limp hair or a
Curl specific shampoo for thicker hair and corresponding conditioners for a minute and rinse well.

Try a light setting spray or leave in conditioner of your choice
or
1 part water or aloe vera juice and 1 part curling mouse in a small spray bottle.

1-Section a portion of hair
2-Spray on the above mixture of choice
3- Split the portion of  hair in two sections and twist the two sections to the end
4a- twirl the ends of the twist with your fingers

Or you can either:
Steps 1-3
4b- Twist n Curl the finished twist by rolling the end with a perm rod or rolling with a roller from end to root

Steps 1-3
4c-Bantu Knot by twirling the twist until it begins to curl onto itself, and wrap it around and secure with a hair pin

5-Put on a bonnet or scarf and go to bed.
In the am
6- untwist and style, if not completely dry, then diffuse it with a blow dryer.

It seems like a lot, but we need to preserve the curlies!

An even easier style for longer hair is...After washing and conditioning hair, you could just use the same mixture and twirl your hair up 1-4 twisted buns and let it dry overnight for body until the am. More for the curlies!
