I attempted a wash n go on last Saturday (7-7). I decided since it was Saturday and I was going out in the HEAT to the the flea market, a trial wash n go would be perfect. It was not the worst, but it was not great at all.
I cowashed with Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship, then I shingled, denman brushed, and hand perfected my wet kinks with KissMyFace Upper Management Gel from Whole Foods and some Ecostyler gel.
Have you ever had a random conversation with a natural stranger. Hey girl, I love ur hair...no i love ur hair. What exactly did you use today, how did you get that style....Well, I did a wash n go with this. Well this KissMyFace gel can kiss my grits as far as wash n gos are concerned. It's not the gel's fault, it is highly due to user error and my disinterest/dislike when it comes to the wash n go on my hair. Load these kinks with gel, shingle and shake, it's just not my cup of tea. I will use this 8 dollar gel on my edges and for puffs, so it is not a total waste. I forgot to mention, I was going to the flea market with my friend Sonja, and she was wearing a wash
n' go also-Fail! That's alright tho, you could not tell us nothin. By
the end of the heat beat down, I had a tight stiff puff, and Sonja had an err-uh let your soul glow-papertowel-wipedown!
This leads me to the protective style that I began that Saturday night with Elasta QP H2 leave in and CD Honey Hair Mimosa (I have received so many compliments). Mind you all of these products are in my head right now and my poor head is itchin. I wanted to keep this in a total 2 weeks (7-21)...Can I make it? Maybe I will attempt to wash while in this style. We'll see...What is your successful wash n go cocktail?
