Like The Wind

Meet me, meet my hair-PEBBLES.

Pebbles is my hair, it is the hair that I was born with. Tight lil-big TWA that grew into thick pig tails sticking straight up. Many pressings, self-cut bangs in 1st grade, and my first Kiddie Perm in Third grade, she grew into extremely thick hair that has always been manageable. I have always maintained her myself with relaxers, trims, wash and condition, wash with no conditioner- just leave in mists, rodsets with no setting lotion, rodsets with leave in mists, airdry, BC's, color, bleach...shame, burgundy rinses, occasional salon visits, and whatever else this kitchen beautician decides.

When my mother was pregnant with me, my father knew his first born was a boy, my name was going to be Pablo Demone...smooth right-nothin but a 70's name!  Well Clearly, he did not have a son, so his best friend said "Well man, you'll have to name her Pebbles".  That's what my people call me and now I have let my hair take the Name.  Pebbles knows braids, micros, press and curls, flatirons, roller-sets, twist and curls, transitioning, rod-sets and more rodsets, buns, her own ponytails and someone else's drawstring pony's, and so on, and so on.

If you see how much I mention Rodsets. Rodsets and Rollersets are my thing. If I rod your hair and it don't curl, it can't curl. I have been rodsetting all types of textures since 1989... think about that. I was in middle school setting my braids with grease and water, water and Procon Gel with pink CurlyKit Rods-yeah U know what i'm talkin bout!!! The current term is Perm Rods. I love rodsets, curlyQues, spiral sets, and I have worn Pebbles like this for sooo long. My goal was to make it look like it naturally grew that way. This love will never end, the style just keeps evolving. 


I am about to tell my age, but I was the braidgirl charging $15 for boxbraids and bantu knots in High School. Pebbles has been Rage, Queen Latifah, Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Oprah for a long stretch, and many others, now its just Pebbles wearing my KinksMyWay.

Like the title, Pebbles changes like the wind and so does my Hair Regimen... more to come!
