To BC or...don't rush!
Although I have BC'd 3 times, Do you find it strange that I do not promote others to instantly BC just because they decided to "go natural".  It can be a major shock that may cause you to give up, or be stressed due to missing the length.  You may feel free, and want to experience every phase of your natural hair.  Most stylists will just say, you need to do it, and point out the state of those permed ends.  Thinking outside of the hair you're used to and embrace the new growth...Motivation.  I always tell people as i detangle their hair, A stylist might not want to deal with this, "I'm not scared".  I pull out that ol' Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat conditioner and commence to tangle taming.  So all of those natural styles that you long for can be imitated with transitioning hair with Rod-sets. Bantu-knots and flat-twist outs.

on my 3 attempts, I went 4 , 6, then 7 months.  Do as I say, not as i do. Try at least 6 months, then try for 9, or 12 with your own hair if possible with some assistance at times. I used plenty of assistance or little friends during my 2nd transition. A Wig was the assistance I needed to get by at the time. I cannot take anything more long term than a wig. Unfortunately, I can hardly make it longer than 8 hours with my friend atop my mane.

Tips that worked for me while Transitioning

1. use gentle cleansers & lightweight conditioners in shower-massaging lather into scalp and working hair downwards

2. don't forget about setting lotions for flat twists and rodded 2strand twists
Elasta QP, Taliah Waajid crinkles&curls

3. sleep in bonnets

4. use lightweight oils
jojoba-close to your natural sebum
grapeseed oil-not too heavy or greasy


wash every 7-10 days.  Hold on to a style by moisturizing with coconut oil


When I was relaxed, I only used Oil Sheen
isoplus, bb smooth, cantu, and my hair just grew. so Complex?
