Hair Revival
I washed my hair on last Wednesday, and it I ended up crunchy. I don't want to fully blame it on Creme of Nature. I used the SLS free shampoo and deep conditioner. The process felt good, but the outcome was not! My hair was tangled and difficult to style. This 3 hour process led to damp hair in the AM, SO I wore a wig for work.
Two days later, and a failed twistout later... A hat, anevent-less uneventful weekend, side combs, and confidence put off the revival process for another 5 days.
So today, sticking to the Product No Spend and Using what I have, I used some items in the Stash.
dry-detangle/ Beautiful Textures Growth Oil
wash/ Shea moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo & Restorative Conditioner
detangle/ Aloe Vera Juice
seal/ Olive Oil
twist/ Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream
=cute twistout!

Save & Lose Challenge
This is not a diet; this is a savings and fresh whole foods challenge
Is your spending and eating out hurting your pockets and expanding your waste line???
Do not spend any money on anything for at least one week.
Do not spend on food /eating out 4 days a week.
Cleanse…
2 days-eat all raw, fresh/frozen fruit, veggies, raw nuts only & plenty water (Sunday& Monday) or (Monday& Tuesday)
Clean out your freezer&fridge, and cook all of those meats & veggies.
Save&Lose…
Tues-Fri- Eat a raw, fresh, cooked(low sodium) veggie and fruit 3-5 times a day.
Prepare fresh food, pack lunch & snacks for 2-3 days at a time that are interchangeable.
-eggs, spinach, oatmeal, peanut butter, 50/50 mix, apples, oranges, bananas, pears, broccoli, chicken breasts, tuna, sprouted bread
-focus on low sodium
If you must eat out, get a salad w/ balsamic vinegar, veggie plate(all veggies-no carb), or meat & veggie only
Drink coffee, hot green tea, and plenty of water
OFF DAY-don’t forget your 1-3 servings veggies & fruits, water
Estimate the amount you usually spend on food through the week and put all or half of it in savings…piggy bank or savings account
I have noticed, I spend upwards of $100-150 some weeks on just FOOD! Instead I spent $50 on groceries (Trader Joe’s&Target), and subsequently I saved $100 and lost 5 pounds this week. $60 of it went to savings!
Pick another item that you overspend on and add it to the no spend challenge…I picked hair products…you’ll be surprised how much extra money will be in your bank account!
Buy it when you need it…
Make a Weekly budget of how much you can spend on food, and other items, ie $65 week on food, and $50 week on other items (toiletries) use all of what you have before you buy a replacement. All of your lotion, body products, detergent for example.

Great Regimen, too bad we may never hear from her blog again!
The Moptop Maven.com | The Premier Source For All Things Creative, Fly & Fashionable: My Night Time Routine: What's Yours?: [source] One of the top ten questions I receive is: What do you do to your hair at night? The answer is: It depends on how I am wearing m...

If I am wearing more of a defined twist out, and I want to keep it defined; this is my nightly routine:- Lightly spritz hair with rose water
- Re-twist hair in sections about an inch wide [I keep the sections smaller for more curl definition]
- Saturate the ends of twists with water [this helps keep the ends curled], then seal with oil [this helps seal in moisture, and helps prevents single strand knots + splits]
- Sleep on silk pillowcase [When my twists are smaller, I like to use a silk pillowcase versus stuffing the twist under a bonnet. For some reason, it turns out better this way.
- Untwist in the morning, fluff, and finger style
Tip: To keep this style as fresh as possible; limit your use of butter-based products AND gels. As you can see, for this particular style I only use water [to refresh and moisturize], and oil [to seal in moisture and keep ends healthy]. With this routine, I can usually go a good two weeks before having to shampoo again!
Why Do I Use Rose Water? Simple; it makes my hair uber soft! I usually get Rose Water cheap from my local Indian Grocery Store.
Here are some of my product recommendations:
Carol's Daughter Tui Leave-In
Jane Carter Revitalizing Leave-In
Qhemet Burdock Root Butter Cream [thinner than Amla & Olive, perfect for those with finer hair]
Oyin's Whipped Pudding [thin enough for fine-haired curlies, moisturizing enough for coarse-haired curlies]
Silk Pillowcase
Spray Bottle [for water]
Rose Water

Good Hair Week

Wash w/ shampoo weekly
Deep Condition Weekly
Leave In Conditioner
Style in 30-40 twists...Moisturize daily...Rock it til it's done!
I cannot even remember if I...prepoo'd? I do know that I washed my hair with ORS-Organic Root Stimulator Shampoo to remove all the goodies from the previous straight hair week. NO heat damage, thank you Ashley!
I deep conditioned with Aussie 3 minute hair miracle. After lightly blow drying, I and flat-twisted my hair with Olive Oil and Curly Pudding and kept those twists in two days. You would think my hair was super hot, but it was ok. That's cool, the next day I twisted my hair with Blue Magic leave-in, olive oil, and Ecostyler Gel. Now that was hot. A great twist out with picked out roots and low manipulation. The next night I used Wave Nouveau Instant Moisturizing Mist and olive oil.
I retwisted my hair with my newer African Pride Moisturizing lotion, then the next night, my sister gave me the older bottle of African Pride. The best! Not really sure what gave me the best twistout. I really feel that it is the combination of all of these products all week. My hair was cute but my pic was not, oops. Poor self pics, and my mama even took one of them??? Anyway, I have a new camera, I cannot wait to put it to work, with Boo as my photographer!

Reduce, alter, and save
Hello my people, kinksmyway is taking a turn in the natural hair community. I have decided to go on a no spend on hair products for a year. Most cannot believe the extremity, but my actions are excessive.
This is the reorganized version of my collection. I have arranged my natural products for use first, then the other products will be doctored up for safe use. Don't fear...I have so many natural shampoos and things that my mane will not suffer much. I have plenty of products to review and advice for better ways to make it work!
